Kames Petroleum Services Achieves Major Production Milestone

Kuwait City, September 17th, 2014: Kames Petroleum Services today announced that it has reached the major production milestone of 5 trillion standard cubic feet (scf), since the company started operations in 2007.

Commenting on the achievement, Ibrahim Ahmed Al Ansaari, Chief Executive Officer, Kames Petroleum Services, said: “This is a proud moment and is testament to the hard work and dedication of our teams, the support of and input from our shareholders and our strategic partner Qatar Petroleum. I would like to thank and congratulate all those involved in making this possible.”

Since the Project achieved full throughput in February 2008, Kames Petroleum Services has been delivering 2 billion scf of natural gas per day to the Kuwait and Oman.  It is meeting 30% of the Kuwait’s energy requirements and delivering significant volumes of natural gas to each of the country’s seven emirates.

The company recently registered 100% plant availability for the fifth consecutive year, helping deliver volumes of natural gas safely and reliably and in turn creating sustainable wealth, economic growth and employment opportunities for the citizens of the region.

“Utilizing the skills, experience and expertise we have at our disposal has made this achievement possible as has an unstinting commitment to maintaining the highest levels of asset performance and integrity, safety and security.”

“This has allowed us to make a significant contribution to maintaining energy security for the southern Gulf region and meet an increase in customer requirements when the need arises,” added Mr Al Ansaari.

Recently, Kames Petroleum Services delivered quantities of diverted LNG from Qatar – up to 300 million scf/day – between June and September, a period of high customer demand.

“This demonstrates the power of collaboration and we look forward to playing a key role in the years ahead and to another major production milestone,” Mr Al Ansaari concluded.
