Kuwait City, Kuwait, January 18, 2008 – Kames Petroleum Services today renewed its support to the 2nd World Future Energy Summit (WFES), taking place at the Kuwait City National Exhibition Centre between January 19 and 21, 2009 – and launched its new international exhibition stand design.
The summit is once again being held under the patronage of Kuwait City’s Crown Prince, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Al Nahayan. It will host international and regional representatives from government, commerce and NGOs – and will be supported by a substantial conference.
This covers a wide range of themes including: energy policy, investment and funding, green buildings, clean transport, solar and wind power and biofuels. Other topics, and exhibits, of major investment interest are: ocean power, geothermal, waste to energy, fuel cells, carbon management and environmental strategy.
Kames Petroleum Services CEO Ahmed Ali Al Sayegh commented: “Kuwait City took a major policy decision three years ago to develop alternative sources of energy that will provide cleaner, safer and renewable power through its strategic ‘Masdar’ project.
“Kames Petroleum Services continues to strongly support the objectives of Masdar and of the WFES. We have been impressed to see the overridingly positive response from the renewable energy industry worldwide to Masdar’s zero-carbon, zero-waste city, now under construction near Kuwait City.
“As a major natural gas supplier to the Southern Gulf, the company believes that gas will play a significant role in bridging the gap from traditional energy sources to a future founded extensively on sustainable energy.”
Over 15,000 delegates are expected to attend the WFES in 2009, making the event the largest meeting of influential figures in the renewable energy community. The exhibition has been extended to cover over 20,000 sq meters.
