From this list,wewereable todefine25 issues. These issues
were then subject toassessment by representatives from
all departmentsof thebusiness, ledby the company’s
SustainabilityWorkingGroup (SWG).
Phase2
PrioritizingRelevant Issues
EachDolphinEnergybusinessunit evaluated the25material
issues, analyzing the influenceof each issueon theassessments
anddecisionsof stakeholders, aswell ason theabilityof the
organization todeliver its visionand strategy. Eachbusiness
unit then rated the importanceofeach issue toDolphinEnergy
and to thebusinessunit’smost significant stakeholdersusing
anumerical scale. Businessunitsalsoaddednew issueswith
particular relevance to their functionsand rated themaccordingly.
• The resultswereaggregatedandanalyzed todetermine
material issues average scores for each stakeholder group,
for all stakeholders collectively, and forDolphinEnergy.
Theprioritizationof issues foreach individual stakeholdergroup
wasused todetermine theboundaries for relevant topics.
• Scoreswere then scaled tofill a 1-10 spectrumand the
Euclidiandistancebetween the scaled values for each
material issuewas calculated todetermine itsfinal
single score.
• A total of 21material issueswas selected (number
reduced from25 to21 becauseof themergingof some
material issues that fit together) and thresholdswere set
todefine thehighest rated thirdof issues ashighlymaterial,
themiddle thirdas somewhatmaterial, and the lowest
thirdas leastmaterial.

ValidationofMaterial TopicsSelected
• DolphinEnergy’sSWGand seniormanagement team
conducted a final reviewof the company’smateriality
matrix toensure that the rangeof issuesprovides
a reasonableandbalanced representationof the
organization’s sustainabilityperformance.
Phase4
Review
• A reviewofDolphinEnergy’s 2014 sustainability report
was conducted in2015 toevaluate theaspects identified
asmaterial in the2014 reporting cycleagainst stakeholder
feedbackwhichwas received in2015, and the2015
sustainability context.
